Loved the house, spent most days on the beach just how we like it. The well kept old simple architecture was great. Everything worked well.

Great location and perfect size.

Our time here couldn?t have been better! From the location of the property to the comfort and style of the home, we will stay here again and again!!

Palaka cottage was an ideal location. Cottage layout was quaint and a bit bigger than expected. Joanne was a wonderful host who offered important suggestions about the area and who helped with special requests for my father. Porch was sublime place to gather at sunset.

Wow!! My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and couldn?t have asked for a better place! It?s even cuter/better than the pictures make it out to be! The location is perfect (you can walk to the beach/pier and into town); the house is clean, charming, beachy; and we even had some peaks of the ocean from the lanai (which has a wonderful couch and table to enjoy). Oh and the outdoor shower is such a treat! Can?t wait to go back!!

The cottage was great. The location is a short walk from the pier and a maybe ten minute walk to town. The house had everything we needed and had a lot of outdoor spaces to enjoy after a day at the beach.

Fabulous, quaint, historic cottage, with modern amenities. 1 block from Hanalei's Black Pot Beach Pier, with mountain and slight ocean views. Made us feel like we stepped back in Hawaiian time. Convenient to all Hanalei and North Shore activities.

“Dear Joanne and the Kauai Island Vacations Team!
Thank you so much for the fabulous service you provided us for our rental of the Palaka House. We loved the house. It was perfect in every way - location, cleanliness, amenities. This is our second stay at the property and each time we are reminded that we should come back more often. We look forward to our next stay!”

“We loved our stay in Palaka Cottage! It was the perfect beach vacation-great location right across from beach and the sweetest place to come home to after a day out adventuring!!”

“My husband and I so enjoyed staying at the Palaka cottage. What a charming place. We enjoyed sitting outside on the lanei hearing the ocean waves. The cottage had everything we needed and was so relaxing. We cant wait to book again one day.”

“We had such an amazing stay at the Palaka cottage. The location was AMAZING and the cottage was perfect for our little family. Loved cooking in the well stocked kitchen and eating out on the porch. We also loved the outdoor shower! We highly recommend this cottage and will be back!”

“Palaka Cottage is our heaven on earth. We have stayed here twice, extending it much longer the second time. We love the authentic Hawaiian feel of the plantation cottage. It feels like a home away from home with all the amenities you need. The decor is relaxing, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is fully stocked to cook your meals, and we love that there are lots of dining table options (kitchen, lanai, and outdoor picnic table) to change it up. The outdoor shower is great after a sandy day at the beach, and the lanai is a perfect spot to unwind. The location is unbeatable since it is right across the street from the most beautiful beach in the world, and close to Hanalei town. It?s also helpful to have a property manager that made everything seamless for us. We will back again and again to make more family memories! I literally cry when I have to leave this place! A hui hou!”

“My wife and I recently spent three nights at the Palaka Cottage on our first visit to the Hanalei area. It was important to us to be in town and near the bay, rather than up in Princeville. The Palaka Cottage is about as in town as you can get, and the location on Weke Road is one street off the bay. We enjoyed the view of the bay from the front lanai in the morning while we had breakfast and in the evening with mai tai?s. It is a short (2 minute) drive to the restaurants along Kuhio Hwy., a little further to the area beaches (Ke?e, Lumahai) and hiking trails. The Palaka Cottage is as close as you can come to having your own beach house in Hanalei. While it was just the two of us, the cottage would easily sleep four ? a family or two couples. The cottage has everything you need, including a full kitchen, washer and dryer, cable TV and wireless internet ? even beach towels and chairs to use. Joanne at Kauai Island Vacations was a pleasure to work with and answered all of our pre-arrival questions. If you are looking for an alternative to the big resort experience, Palaka Cottage is the place for you.”
