It provides an authentic Hawaiian vacation experience; yet has all of the modern amenities and updated decor its visitors may desire. It has a fully supplied kitchen, comfortable furniture, modern decor, updated bathrooms, washer and dryer and overall surroundings that will keep you relaxing at home as much as on the beach. Every room has large windows and doors on its exterior walls. The wrap around lanai stretches the perimeter of the house for spacious outdoor living.

This bamboo getaway is just across the street from a long stretch of white sand beach that extends over two miles...perfect for sunning, strolls and beach combing. Just a few minutes away are some of the best swimming and snorkeling beaches on the island, including Tunnels and Ke'e beach at the end of the road. Ke'e beach is also where you will find the gateway to the Kalalau Trail to start a hike of the Na Pali coast. Only a few minutes South you will find Lumahai beach where you can spend the day at the river for a truly local experience.

At the treehouse, your next outdoor adventure can start right in the neighborhood - on the beach, in the ocean, afloat the streams and rivers or on the trails of the stunning Na Pali Coast mountains. Our family of 3 had a wonderful stay. The house has such attractive classic island decor, and it is very comfortable too! The wrap-around veranda was lovely to sit on and enjoy the tropical weather, while watching the geckos and egrets and other fauna in the yard. It is set back from the main road enough to not be too noisy, yet it is still an easy walk across that road to a beach (I think it's Kepuhi Beach) that?s perfect for kids and snorkeling and exploring. We appreciated the house extras, like beach gear and plenty of kitchen ware. Just remember to grab your groceries on the way in as suggested, so you can arrive and relax. We were happy with all of the good information the host provided, especially with the 2021 landslide road closure and rental car shortages. From the house it?s also a short drive to the Ha?ena Beach Park / Tunnels Beach parking lot (go early to get a spot), and to Limahuli Gardens. If you want a permit to go to Ha?ena State Park / Ke?e Beach, get it ASAP. We weren?t able to get a parking permit, but we got shuttle tickets that allowed us to be picked us up at the Colony Resort across the street. We did go into Hanalei a few times too to look around and get supplies; it's a pretty drive over all of the single lane bridges. We had a great relaxing trip, and the Bamboo Hideaway was a lovely place to stay!

This property is incredibly unique as the entire home inside and out is made of bamboo. The wonderful lanai that surrounds the home looks out amongst the treetops and both the lanai and the many sliding glass doors allow for the breeze to enter the home. We appreciated the comfortable beds, the easy walk to Kepuhi Point for rainbows, ocean breezes and amazing sunsets. As the far north of Kauai is my favorite spot on all the islands it was wonderful having easy access to Haena State Park, Ke'e Beach (need a permit to enter) and of course: Tunnels Beach! The ride to Hanalei Bay was easy and we took advantage of the quiet time during road closures to soak up the town of Hanalei like a local. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise with us.

The bamboo hideaway is clean, beautiful, unique, and comfortable. Our family had a fantastic week here, and we would definitely return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tropical Bamboo Hideaway. Its huge backyard and somewhat remote location was very relaxing, a true get-away. It is close enough to Hanalei that restaurants and shopping are easily accessible. We also ate at a great restaurant within walking distance across the street. Tunnels beach is 0.9 mile away, so you can walk to it if parking is not available- we were regulars at this with its fantastic snorkeling. The Hideaway provides towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. The beds are very comfortable and the overall ambiance of the home is lovely. Gorgeous landscaping outside, too. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and hope to return some day.

The house is beautiful as expected with everything you could possibly need. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable which is huge and the kitchen has everything you need to cook at home. Thank you!

Our stay was absolutely amazing and definitely would stay here again

    Sarah, February 2021

We stayed here for 8 nights while we got married and spent our honeymoon in Kauai. It was perfect! We loved the location - able to walk to Tunnels Beach, conveniently close to Hanalei town but far enough away to be quiet and secluded. The porch wraps around entirely and you have a view of the ocean across the street while sitting on the porch drinking wine. The kitchen was fully stocked with any cooking tools we needed, we felt like we were in our own home the entire trip. As long as this house is available, we will be staying here every time we return!

We greatly enjoyed our stay, 21 nights, beautiful location and walked to Tunnels and Ke?e Beach almost daily. Saw every sunrise and sunset. Rained only one day, unusual weather for January, and was thankful. Location is Private, quiet, and neighbors very respectful. 8 th trip to Kaua?i in 31 years, this was by far the best location for hiking and walking the beaches without having to drive or very little. We had the blessings of seeing a lot of wildlife keeping our distance of course. During our hikes on NaPali we Sometimes would see 2 whales breach at a time and Saw monk seals sleeping everyday- always being mindful of keeping our distance not to disturb them. In 3 weeks we only used 5/8 th of a tank of gas, that?s how much we enjoyed walking and hiking locally in Ha?ena. We only traveled to Hanalei for groceries and are not much for eating out. But if we did eat out Tahiti Nui has excellent Ahi Bowls. House is like home, everything you need. Thank you Joanne Hanna, you were great to work with from the management company and the cleaning company and lawn company did an outstanding job in their mid stay care for the home. Mahalo!

Very cute and comfy property! You cannot beat the location! Gorgeous

    Rachel, January 2020

I booked this house for a family vacation, and everything was great! Close to the beach, comfortable, and communication was great. They were even able to do a little grocery shopping for us before we got there, which was much appreciated since our flight got us in well past midnight. Definitely recommend!

    Krystal, December 2019

We really enjoyed our stay. Peaceful place and beautiful house. It has probably the most beautiful beach "tunnel beach" in the world by walking distance.

    Kit, November 2019

Lovely Tropical Bamboo Hideaway won't disappoint anyone staying there. Very comfy and well decorated with 2 great bedrooms and baths, a well-equipped kitchen and a view of the ocean...While it was quite warm, the cross breezes and fans kept us cool and happy. There's a great coffeeshop across the street (in Hanalei Colony Resort) offering macademia nut milk, too. Love this neighborhood, and its proximity to Tunnels Beach. This beautiful property is a five star!

Well positioned to Tunnels Beach (20 min walk) and trail head at Hae'na Park as well as Limahuli Gardens (most people skip this lovely gem). The ride to Hanalei is quick enough for all the major conveniences but the restaurant at Hanalei Colony Resort is across the street and is just fine for dinner or lunch. Additionally, the Napoli art gallery next door to the restaurant doubles as a coffee shop (opens at 7am). The house has a lovely tree top views, is well decorated and has all the conveniences that one would expect. Snorkeling gear and a bike (we didn't use) are also available. Thank you for a great stay - your place is lovely.

This is by far the best vacation I've ever had! The space is perfect and definitely worth its value!

    Cecilia August 2019

Beautiful place, we had a great time. Thanks so much and look forward to the next visit.

Not sure where to begin... Tropical Bamboo Hideaway was absolutely gorgeous! The photos really don't do it justice: it's bigger and more spacious than it looks and epitomizes the feel of island living. It's located in Ha'ena, a very quiet part of the island, surrounded on all sides by palm trees and other local flora, well away from the hordes of tourists, and it's perfectly situated for those that like to walk on the beach at sunset and do the same at sunrise.

It's literally about 1.5 blocks away from the beach at Kepuhi Point (and the Napali Art Gallery & Coffee House: the vanilla latte was very tasty and they have some great pieces by local artists) and .9 miles from the best sunset in Kauai: Makua (Tunnels) Beach. For the more adventurous, it's also about 1.5 miles from the infamous Kalalau Trail. The house was well-appointed and stocked with all the necessary cookware to accommodate my brother's family when they visited for dinner. We stayed there in July, and though the house doesn't have A/C, there are sliding doors on every corner of the house and we never once felt overheated. There were several portable fans available if we needed to provide any additional air movement, but generally the natural breezes kept us quite comfortable. There was also a selection of books about the island which proved quite useful in our quest for the best hikes and snorkeling. Speaking of which, it turned out that some of the best snorkeling in Kauai is located within a mile of the house, so you won't have to drive far (or at all) to see a cornucopia of fish, sea turtles and an occasional monk seal.

You're also only a few miles from Hanalei Bay if you're looking for additional water sports such as kayaking or SUP, or just dining out. I would also like to thank the owner and the management company who were very helpful in answering questions about the house and the island in general. Don even drew a map for us on where to find sea turtles, which we used that very afternoon and actually saw one about 10 yards from where he notated on the map (hint: about 70 yards offshore on the backside of the inner reef, midway between the point of Tunnels Beach and the lifeguard station at Ha'ena Beach Park). All in all, we had an absolutely fantastic and memorable time on our vacation. The bamboo treehouse has made an indelible impression on us and set a bar that would be very difficult to beat. We will definitely be coming back! Thanks!

Place was great and kitchen was well orgnanized and stocked

    Kenneth July 2019

We loved our experience SO much! This is our favorite part of the island and we always try to stay in the area. Hanalei is amazing but our drive to, and time spent, in Haena is just as magical. The house was perfect in every way. It was so well stocked and clearly loved. We swam with turtles at tunnels and walked to a different beach every night for beautiful sunsets. We were pleased to find that the restaurant across the street, Opakapaka, was open even though the Colony Resort has yet to reopen. Great food and amazing staff. This house and neighborhood is a seriously special place. Can?t wait to go back!

    Beckett June 2019

We had a wonderful 5 days with every possible requirement thought of by our hosts, down to books and giant jigsaw puzzles The kitchen provides all needs the beds were restful and the cross breeze kept the house comfortable. We would gladly return again to this idyllic location

    Caroline June 2019

Wonderful location for access to Ha'ena Park and snorkeling. The management team took extra care helping us with details of our stay, especially when trying to figure out the new regulations for parking and entry into the park. From beginning to end, communication was superior. The house is truly a work of art. The beds were very comfortable. Please note there is no air conditioning. Once all of the windows and doors are open with fans running it is not a problem. That being said, the loft has very little air flow and I would not recommend it as a sleeping area for guests. The management team was so quick to respond to any concerns. We greatly appreciated the extra info from Don about the area. Given that so much change had occurred in the area when we arrived with the new opening of the road and regulations for Ha'ena, I want to extend an extra thanks to Joanne for all of the emails ahead of time and for her willingness to help us figure things out once we were there. Mahalo! Thank you so much for our wonderful visit. We hope to be back!
