Lovely Tropical Bamboo Hideaway won't disappoint anyone staying there. Very comfy and well decorated with 2 great bedrooms and baths, a well-equipped kitchen and a view of the ocean...While it was quite warm, the cross breezes and fans kept us cool and happy. There's a great coffeeshop across the street (in Hanalei Colony Resort) offering macademia nut milk, too. Love this neighborhood, and its proximity to Tunnels Beach. This beautiful property is a five star!

Well positioned to Tunnels Beach (20 min walk) and trail head at Hae'na Park as well as Limahuli Gardens (most people skip this lovely gem). The ride to Hanalei is quick enough for all the major conveniences but the restaurant at Hanalei Colony Resort is across the street and is just fine for dinner or lunch. Additionally, the Napoli art gallery next door to the restaurant doubles as a coffee shop (opens at 7am). The house has a lovely tree top views, is well decorated and has all the conveniences that one would expect. Snorkeling gear and a bike (we didn't use) are also available. Thank you for a great stay - your place is lovely.

Not sure where to begin... Tropical Bamboo Hideaway was absolutely gorgeous! The photos really don't do it justice: it's bigger and more spacious than it looks and epitomizes the feel of island living. It's located in Ha'ena, a very quiet part of the island, surrounded on all sides by palm trees and other local flora, well away from the hordes of tourists, and it's perfectly situated for those that like to walk on the beach at sunset and do the same at sunrise.
It's literally about 1.5 blocks away from the beach at Kepuhi Point (and the Napali Art Gallery & Coffee House: the vanilla latte was very tasty and they have some great pieces by local artists) and .9 miles from the best sunset in Kauai: Makua (Tunnels) Beach. For the more adventurous, it's also about 1.5 miles from the infamous Kalalau Trail. The house was well-appointed and stocked with all the necessary cookware to accommodate my brother's family when they visited for dinner. We stayed there in July, and though the house doesn't have A/C, there are sliding doors on every corner of the house and we never once felt overheated. There were several portable fans available if we needed to provide any additional air movement, but generally the natural breezes kept us quite comfortable. There was also a selection of books about the island which proved quite useful in our quest for the best hikes and snorkeling. Speaking of which, it turned out that some of the best snorkeling in Kauai is located within a mile of the house, so you won't have to drive far (or at all) to see a cornucopia of fish, sea turtles and an occasional monk seal.
You're also only a few miles from Hanalei Bay if you're looking for additional water sports such as kayaking or SUP, or just dining out. I would also like to thank the owner and the management company who were very helpful in answering questions about the house and the island in general. Don even drew a map for us on where to find sea turtles, which we used that very afternoon and actually saw one about 10 yards from where he notated on the map (hint: about 70 yards offshore on the backside of the inner reef, midway between the point of Tunnels Beach and the lifeguard station at Ha'ena Beach Park). All in all, we had an absolutely fantastic and memorable time on our vacation. The bamboo treehouse has made an indelible impression on us and set a bar that would be very difficult to beat. We will definitely be coming back! Thanks!

“We loved our experience SO much! This is our favorite part of the island and we always try to stay in the area. Hanalei is amazing but our drive to, and time spent, in Haena is just as magical. The house was perfect in every way. It was so well stocked and clearly loved. We swam with turtles at tunnels and walked to a different beach every night for beautiful sunsets. We were pleased to find that the restaurant across the street, Opakapaka, was open even though the Colony Resort has yet to reopen. Great food and amazing staff. This house and neighborhood is a seriously special place. Can?t wait to go back!

“Wonderful location for access to Ha'ena Park and snorkeling. The management team took extra care helping us with details of our stay, especially when trying to figure out the new regulations for parking and entry into the park. From beginning to end, communication was superior. The house is truly a work of art. The beds were very comfortable. Please note there is no air conditioning. Once all of the windows and doors are open with fans running it is not a problem. That being said, the loft has very little air flow and I would not recommend it as a sleeping area for guests. The management team was so quick to respond to any concerns. We greatly appreciated the extra info from Don about the area. Given that so much change had occurred in the area when we arrived with the new opening of the road and regulations for Ha'ena, I want to extend an extra thanks to Joanne for all of the emails ahead of time and for her willingness to help us figure things out once we were there. Mahalo! Thank you so much for our wonderful visit. We hope to be back!
